The Best Pale Skin Beauty Finds

That's of course foundation and concealer, but also all other products as even standard tones can appear too pigmented against my fair complexion. Of course, I'm not alone in this search, I'm sure dark complexions on the other side of the spectrum find it even more difficult. But at least brands finally are acknowledging this fact and broadening colour ranges. While the beauty industry is playing catch-up I still need to seek out them gem products, the ones that come to life against my pale skin rather than constant it in a harsh unflattering way or just turn me into an oompa lumpa. If you are a fellow ghost or have fairly pale skin then the below products may very well be for you! This truly is a miracle product and is often compared to YSL Touche Eclat, which I do own, and would actually say it trumps! What Touch Eclat lacks in coverage this makes up for, while still remaining light feeling and non-cakey. But as this blog post is all about tone, let me tell you that this is one of the lightest shades of concealer I've come across and will suit all pale girls perfectly. Oh, and it can also be used as an eyeshadow base! I'm currently on the look out for back-ups of this and I'm not done using it but cannot be without it now. I spent years wasting my money on 'universal' toned bronzer that would just look dirty or too orange in contrast to my pale skin. But thankfully over time shade ranges have expanded somewhat and it is possible to find lighter toned bronzer - whoop! One of my lower priced light bronzers in my collection is this gem from The Body Shop. As you may be able to tell this is a fairly neutral toned bronzer, making it perfect for ultra pale skin that can't work with warm toned bronzers. Perfect for dusting over the face in summer or contouring with as it is buildable without looking powdery. I also love that it's matte as it then can appear natural on the skin and even be used as a sneaky transitional light brown eyeshadow shade. But when you know, you just know. And I know! So even after just a week in my mitts I know it will be a staple item in my collection! I bought this on recommendation from fellow pale girl, Lily of <a href="http://www.pintsizedbeauty.com/" target="_blank">Pint Sized Beauty</a>, you can read her lovely review of the pencil <a href="http://www.pintsizedbeauty.com/2017/02/the-do-it-all-pencil-everyone-needs.html" rel="" target="_blank">here</a>, but also had been on my to-buy list for months. As the name states this is a wonder pencil... and what is a wonder pencil? A pencil that does everything! It's almost a hybrid concealer/lip liner.... concealer in coverage, lip liner in formula. It can be used as a precise concealer on blemishes, to enhance the cupid' bow and as a lip liner (of course blended out a bit), to define the brows and on the bottom waterline of the eyes for that wide-awake effect. I'm also certain it could be used all over the eyelids as a base for eyeshadow, but I've yet to try it out. Before buying the Wonder Pencil my two concerns were that it wouldn't be creamy enough or pale enough, but I didn't need to worry... it's just spot on! It's certainly a light enough shade (also with good coverage) and as creamy a kohl pencil. But then the Iconic London Illuminator in the newest and lightest shade came into my life and changed all of that! As for the price, I really think it is justified.... mainly because it is so special and the wonderful formula cannot be faulted but also because a single dot/drop is required per application and you get an incredible 13.5ml, which I'd imagine to last an extremely long time. Again, light toned blushes are widely available, it's only a matter of looking, but there's a few light rose pink shades that are beyond flattering against pale skin. One of them being theBalm FratBoy, an ultra natural rosy pink matte blusher. Against pale skin this never looks too strong or pigment, just flattering and brightening, which makes it my go-to blusher in Spring/Summer. If you are looking for a blusher to fall in love with and have as a staple shade that will suit all makeup looks then this is one to snap up. Through selecting these products I've realised that shades that perfectly suit your skin tone are rare! They've always been around and often come and go, but copy-cat makeup brands are now doing better than ever. I've been someone that buys from brands like these but often feel on the fence about them. Should it be tolerated or do they rightly deserve a place in the beauty world? I'm still unsure.  But let's rewind a bit, let's talk about what exactly makes someone label a brand a copy-cat. For me this would be low-cost makeup brands that look at the products of popular high-end makeup brands and aim to reproduce some of their key products in both packaging and product as close as they possibly can... without them looking counterfeit of course!  Below I've detailed three makeup brands that I believe to work in this way, which I should importantly point out that I don't dislike (I've enjoyed the odd product from them!) and I'm not suggesting should be avoided. I have fond memories of finding W7 branded products for �1-2 on market stalls in my teens and feeling I had a bit of Benefit; their no.1 'inspiration' at the time. Of course, as a penny less teen I saw no harm in it, but looking back many products were so close in packaging and actual product to Benefit. Over the years they have focused on producing more Benefit style products, along with Urban Decay look-a-like products and a very similar OPI-style line of nail polishes. From time to time they will also hone in on brands that are doing well with a particular product and attempt to reproduce them - think Kylie Jenner's lip products, Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronzer and a budget version of the Hourglass Modernist eyeshadow palette. On the whole W7 look the business, but I often wonder are they spending more on packaging and the aesthetics than the actual product inside. As for how they fair against the high-end brands they take 'inspiration' from, I'd say it's pretty hit and miss, with some products falling short against other high-street/budget brands but then other times products will surprise you! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieNytTtcXgv8Kh5iVYZEhxQ5bFjR1CBrc4oYpTpgRMhy1QoJIR-04nRt9dx13GZ2x9SJiS375_ptxjqgzHHCtzRQ8hFFh-YLdgFPYd-g804E3N97LWXYibBVcVy1OG0pBviiKPloFsab4/s1600/Makeup-revolution.jpg" /></div> Makeup Revolution  The new high-street player Now I'm not going to lie, I love Makeup Revolution products! They truly create some amazing eyeshadow palettes at very reasonable prices and I'm a fan of their lipsticks. However what I'm not a fan of is when they blatantly rip-off certain high-end products. This started with a very similar product to the Too Faced Sweetheart Blushers and continued with their I Heart Chocolate eyeshadow palettes that look almost identical to the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes. Their latest acquisition - Kylie Jenner's Lip Kits in the form of their own Retro Luxe Lip Kits. For a brand that could have a really strong identity of their own I wish they would stop copying high-end products like this and stick to their strengths, creating amazingly pigmented palettes and face products.   <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQgRuwaopFXsUTWG_PshiGbEyEj_pRe2ASJC9ltjoPlLgpXKQWmPrhVXbt_Imj21qe87Nqmd-oJCvWrn1SggGpqvWcv36JbVc2UE7w9se_0RbWdi1MNdM_y4vSlIJg58zkDcOnfWubkY0/s1600/Beauty-Pie-UK.jpg" /></div> Beauty Pie The Bobbi Brown look-alike with a twist Beauty Pie is a totally new player in the beauty world and with a totally new concept of how we buy makeup they have received a good coverage of press both online and in magazines. If you are unaware of the recently launched brand let me briefly explain! Beauty Pie works on a monthly membership basis. Pay �10+ per month and you are allowed to buy 3-6 products from the brand within that month at a reduced price. For example, you could buy one of their eyeshadow palettes for �35 without a membership but with a membership you apparently pay the factory cost of only �6.94. Will it catch on? I really don't know. I personally wouldn't pay to be allowed to buy makeup, it just doesn't make sense to me, however this kind of business model is definitely new to the cosmetic market and only time will tell. My main problem with this new brand - they look very similar to Bobbi Brown products. From their packaging choices and all black theme, to their double-spaced logo font that's oh so simplistic and Bobbi Brown-like. Their shade ranges also screams Bobbi Brown to me and although I can see they want to go for a luxury feel I don't know if copying an established high-end brand is the way to go. Is it just the same as high street clothing brands taking 'inspiration' for the high-end seasonal fashion shows and brands? Or does it run deeper than that?  I'd love to know your opinion on this - Do you avoid brands that use these techniques to sell their lesser quality products or do you embrace them?  Fee xo.

It's not really a guilty pleasure... more a waste of time generally when I should be doing something else!  If you aren't familiar with the comedy/tongue-in-cheek style programme it's a series in which celebrities are invited to share their pet hates in hope that the host will agree and banish it to Room 101; a fictional kind of hell!  So today I thought I would submit my own beauty pet hates that I feel are deserving of Room 101. Let me know if you agree! Sponge Eyeshadow Applicators  Isn't it about time makeup brands ditched the useless sponge eyeshadow applicators from palettes? I think it is! To be far high end brands now provide compact brushes and from time to time lower end brands do as well, but for the main part crappy sponge applicators are still around! Most people that wear makeup own a few brushes and if they don't then using fingertips would work better than attempting to apply eyeshadow with a small rough sponge. I'd love to see the back of these pointless applicators in makeup palettes! Unhygienic Makeup Testers  Over the years I've banged on about this problem quite a bit and will carry on doing so until the right measures are put into place to keep makeup shoppers health safe! I'm talking all the messy over used and unsanitized makeup you see on makeup stands. Makeup counters of course keep their makeup in pristine condition regularly sanitising products but sadly the same can't be said for high street makeup stands in various stores. It's common to see people at makeup stands directly applying makeup to their eyes and lips and it makes me shudder knowing that the products they are apply are unhygienic and could possibly contain e-coli along with other harmful bacteria and even cause bacterial conjunctivitis! I really feel strict rules should be put into place about this now! The New Type of Brows  This may be a controversial one but when did eyebrows become an entire process from outlining the shape to filling them in with micro brush strokes to give that ombre effect and not to mention 'carving them out'. I've even managed to get sucked into it and can often spend 15 minutes perfecting my eyebrows! Surely a comb through and eyebrow pencil is enough? I'd love to see eyebrows become slightly more realistic and less Instagram perfect! Fake Makeup on eBay  Fake makeup on eBay has become a huge problem over the past 10 years, so much so that there is now more fake makeup on the selling site than genuine makeup! This means that more and more customers are unknowingly buying counterfeit makeup that skip all checks and regulations and have in the past shown to often contain banned ingredients that could be harmful when applied to the skin. eBay really do need to crack down on this and remove counterfeit products that are listed (they are pretty obvious to spot if you know what you are looking for) and make buyers much more aware! I also have a bug bear with endless Facebook groups full of makeup lovers sharing which fake products are available and are best to buy. They surely know the risks and the possible carcinogenic risks but are ignoring this just for the price and look of a product! This also needs to be cracked down on by Facebook as it's certainly giving out the message that fake makeup is safe to use. Known for it's wide range of shades and quality products it's a firm favourite makeup brand of mine now it's in the UK.  There is a UK website however unless you aren't near a Kiko store I wouldn't really recommend shopping Kiko online as there is a minimum spend of �25, quite high delivery costs and your order will come from Italy making delivery a bit slower than normal. So basically hitting up a Kiko store is were it's at! I personally love Kiko's lip products the most as they have amazing formulas, packaging and shades. Think creamy comfortable shades that last on the lips; just really amazing value for money. I could recommend so many autumn-worthy shades from the range however my favourite deep berry tone would have to be Copenhagen, the less darker and more wearable sister of Transylvania. The lip cream lasts well throughout the day however it does fade leaving a nice even stain. I also love that the shade can dabbed lightly onto the lips for a lighter berry tone. I have a lot of love for this product. Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick - Diamond Life  �3.00 Superdrug (<a href="http://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=2026&awinaffid=246295&clickref=website&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.superdrug.com%2FMake-Up%2FLips%2FLipstick%2FMakeup-Revolution-Rose-Gold-L-S-Diamond-Life-3-2G%2Fp%2F683800" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">LINK HERE</a>) Onto such a stunning lipstick with both the rose gold packaging and the actual lip product and for a mere �3 - kudos to Makeup Revolutions here! As you can see this does look a seriously dark lipstick in the bullet but in fact is quite a wearable medium berry shade, look to Private Members Club from the range if you want something extra vampy. This lipstick glides over the lips with ease with a nice hydrated looking finish - side note... I've aware this is very similar to 'NYC Copehagen' however they are totally different in formula making them look different when on the lips. This has made me realise how much I need the raved about <a href="http://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=2026&awinaffid=246295&clickref=website&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.superdrug.com%2FMake-Up%2FLips%2FLipstick%2FMakeup-Revolution-Rose-Gold-L-S-Chauffeur-3-2G%2Fp%2F683803" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Rose Gold Chauffeur</a> lipstick now! Again this is a lipstick that can dabbed onto the lips to give a more pink berry lip stain. If you love enhancing your eyes, especially when wearing a dark lip or adding a highlighting shade to a smokey eye then this is the cream eyeshadow you need this season. Ghost have been around what seems like forever and they produce some lovely affordable scents. I recently picked up Deep Night as I remember wearing it years ago and enjoying it. I would describe the scent as quite masculine and almost like a woody aftershave but with extra subtle floral notes and vanilla, making it a warm scent. Any other time I would say this is purely an evening scent but come Autumn/Winter it can definitely be worn as a sultry daytime fragrance if you are into deep notes. I personally love this scent being on my scarves in autumn as there is something warming and comforting about it, this could be the masculine aspect of it or that it's just a well rounded slightly spicy scent. Lush The Comforter Shower Cream 100g  �4.95 Lush (<a href="https://uk.lush.com/products/comforter-3" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">LINK HERE</a>) Lush are totally on the money calling this a 'snug berry hug' on their website, because it is exactly that! Generally comforting body products are bath products but if you won't have a bath in your home or just don't enjoy them, then it can be tricky to find anything that's ultra relaxing to use in the shower. Cue, The Comforter! With it's uplifting blackberry scent and it's rich cassis notes along with a nice amount of foam this is a joy to use in the shower. I can't fully explain it but it really does feel like a treat and it certainly is comforting especially under warm water. But this year I fancied something a bit more sophisticated and extra vampy, so I picked up Marron Show from Bourjois; a rich chocolate brown with an ultra glossy finish. Although dark the shade couldn't be mistaken for black and definitely is the grown up shade I was after. I also forgot how faultless Bourjois nail polishes are and will be picking up more shades from the La Laque range in the near future. Whether it's a full on glitter that's a total pain to remove or glistening flexs that catch the lights whilst still letting your base nail colour shine through which is exactly what Vintage Confetti has to offer. I rate Sally Hansen nail polishes in general as they are budget friendly and offer so many amazing shades, but for me the stars of the show are the glitter flecked top coats. Vintage Confetti contains a mix of roughly cut gold pieces along with light pink and black hexagons and teeny tiny strands of orange and micro white dots. This looks amazing over any dark polish which is why it's an autumn favourite, that and the gold pieces catch the light so well reminding me of crisp golden leaves.
